Hello good people! Many of you new to this spot are not familiar with my OH SNAPS Blogs. They are the gentle reminders of how our kids minds work. Sometimes I am left absolutely speechless!
numba 1 - NAACP Batteries? Nissa (on the left) was running around the house one day looking for batteries for her Disney wand. She looked high and low, and finally sat next to me on the couch as I was watching a news report about the NAACP in Baltimore. She watched intently as well, and asked me " daddy what kind of batteries does this take? I looked at the wand and said "It takes double A batteries (AA)" she looked at me watched the tv some more and asked "daddy who are they talking about? ... "Honey they are talking about the N double A CP" ..I didnt think about explaining what the organization was, until Yana walks up and says to nissa "Did you find the batteries yet?...she sighs then responds with.. "Nope I need NAACP batteries, and I dont know what they look like" OH SNAPS
Numba 2 Yana - Jay Z's bday - Ok so we are heading home from school and it is Jay Z's bday (41). I comment on the real age of Mr Carter, and my yana says "He is almost as old as you dad, why is he with Beyonce then?... kind of a special moment in the car right then, so I look in the mirror at her and reply "hmmm she is 25 maybe 28 or so, Why is she with him? ...yana thinks about it, scrunches up her face "must be the money i suppose" ....I had no immediate response other than changing the station to news! OH SNAPS
numba 3 nissa - My daddy died and rose: ok so nissa is learning all about the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit in her Christian school. She asks me "daddy is Jesus the father of us all? .. and I respond back no he is the Son and the way to the Father" ..she looks at me and replies "ok, and Jesus died and rose again right daddy? .."Yes baby" next day in school when i am picking them up, two of her friends stop me in the hall way, with the other parents and say "You are nissa's, dad, she said you died and rose"....Im like WTF..and the other parents are looking at us AS IF.. so nissa looks at me and says "Actually I was talking about Jesus and father God, these kids always get stuff mixed up"... ok OH SNAPS
LOL! Kids are so pure aren't they? Nissa, precious little angel, better have gotten her NAACP batteries by now. If not I got some for her! LOL! Yana is wise beyond her years! Picked up on that pretty quick didn't she. Lawd out of the mouth of babes! Hugs and blessings to you and the angels Papi! Besos!
