Welcome to the bloggy, and yes i have been beaten up and run ragged but it is now time for OH SNAPS!!
yes the simple musings of my lil girls as the make sense out of the senseless!!
A 5yo's logic:
On ashy feet - "Daddy whats wrong with your feet?
"nothing honey what what do you see?
"They have white stuff on them daddy"
"oh they are dry I need to......
"If they are dry then why dont you put some water on them?
Ok so now im thinking, is she making fun of my ashy feet or is she really serious?
"No honey they are ashy, daddy didnt put lotion on them yet"
So im looking at her looking at me, looking at her, looking at my feet, then she looks up and says:
"Daddy what are you waiting for?
OH SNAPS.. i guess i better get to the bathroom and get the damn lotion! DAMN !!
On the recent Children's Health Care bill: We were watching CNN and I had to explain to her what all the commotion was concerning the health bill proposal. I told her that the current law would run out next week if congress didnt pass a new one. The problem is that congress wants to add coverage for another 2million more children, and the president and the republicans dont want that. They think it will be too costly.
"So what is health care daddy?
"Oh thats is something that daddy pays for so that when you get sick you can go to Dr Sam and not have to worry about a bill"
"Oh ok..so they want to make that for all kids?
"Not really baby just for some, see the law helps those who cant afford to pay like daddy does"
"Daddy that sounds like a goodthing, to do, to take care of others like Jesus says"
"Yes baby it would be a goodthing"
"So daddy why they acting like fools and not passing the law?
"Good point baby good point"
they grow up so fast .. My 10 yo asked me about Alzheimer's, cause in a book she is reading, one of the girls has to attend to a grandmother who is forgetful.
"Dad when you get old do you forget who you are and who others are?
"Hmmm well honey that is called Alzheimer's, and sometimes people can be senile. They both affect a persons brain their mind, they become forgetful, and also they cant remember how to do things like going to the bathroom, where there house is, names of their children,..,yes it gets pretty bad, but not all old folks get it, no one in our family has ever had it, and we have all lived to be pretty old"
she looked at me, and sat in my lap
"daddy if you got that old would you forget me?
I thought about it and then I smiled and hugged her..
"no my evening star, you smell the same, and your pretty eyes would always remind me...just how much I love you, so if i ever forget your name, just sit close to me under the moon at night, and hold me.. I will know then that I have always loved you"
